The article about the new technology SMILE, was very interesting and thought provoking. This new technology helps students and teachers implement questions in the classroom. It teaches how to ask questions. This shows that the skill of asking questions is one that can be taught and requires practice. This technology seemed to be very effective if it was used constantly. I thought it was interesting to note that technology cannot take over human skills. This new technology does not come up with question, however it helps students and teachers come up with questions.
I am not currently teaching, but I imagine that this would be a great tool in the classroom to develop students' thinking skills. Students learn much better through a give and take style of learning than through lecture style.
I am not sure of this can be implemented in an early childhood classroom. I imagine that students need proficient reading and writing skills in order to participate in SMILE, which students from 3-8 years old may not have. However, the importance of asking questions is no less important at that age.
